2050 Partners is seeking to add a highly capable Consultant to focus on Codes & Standards program research design, development and implementation oversight.  In this position, you will develop research designs and strategies and oversee implementation of research projects that help our clients achieve goals related to energy efficiency, demand flexibility, and broader decarbonization strategies. You will serve as customer point of contact and oversee technical consultant teams conducting Code Readiness research in buildings throughout California. You will support long term tactical planning efforts to help California achieve its energy and climate goals. You may assist with project coordination and technical and analytical support for state and federal standards and test procedures advocacy. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional client services, dedicated to our mission of meeting state, federal, and international carbon mitigation goals, and enthusiastic about growing with our dynamic consulting firm. Location in the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento area (ideally) or California is a plus, Responsibilities include:

• Be a trusted advisor by providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis
• Design, develop and oversee implementation of primary and secondary research related to energy-using equipment and building systems
• Project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing
• Client engagement, subcontractor management, and external stakeholder engagement
• Review and analysis of technical research results related to energy-using equipment and building systems
• Participation in energy policy and regulation development, specifically building codes and appliance standards
• Development of compelling reports and presentations and business development and proposal writing

Desired Qualifications

• Engineering or technical degree(s) required
• 6-15 years relevant experience (work and graduate program, if applicable)
• Non-residential HVAC systems knowledge, particularly heat pump technology
• Experience with building design and/or building energy codes and appliance standards, especially Title 24
• Project management track record, ideally including project management of commercial building new construction or retrofit projects
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills
• Highest ethical standards
• Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization
• Great initiative, creativity and curiosity; work well both on your own and as part of team
• Strong practical implementation skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to learn and apply skills across interdisciplinary fields, including technology assessments, engineering, economics, statistics, and policy

• Willingness for occasional travel
• Desire and ability to work remotely
